Default EZ GO Carb problems = 10 % ethanol ??

Greeting again,

I've had a repeated problem with the float needle sticking closed on my 98 EZGO. I've done a little research and noticed others with the same problem. I've had to my carb apart about a dozen times to fix this and noticed the float needle has a rubber tip (maybe neoprene??). Being a car person, I know that some rubber isn't compatible with the new ethanol mixed fuels and causes it to degrade. I've also noticed other EZ GO owners on the web with the same problem. I suspect this might be part of my problem. Has anyone heard of this being a problem or have a comment on this??

I was told by a cart shop guy that they have been recommending high grade fuel which supposedly has less ethanol in it.

I am new to the Cart world, but I do tinker with watercrafts, 4-wheelers and motorcycles. I have noticed a problem over the last year since ethonol has been introduced to this are. Stabil fuel stabilizer does have a product out for Ethonol. YOu might try it. I have been given that tip by boat and motorcyle shops. The fuel breaks down more rapidly with the introduction of ethonol. Hope this helps
