Default What is this wire??

sorry I don't have a picture. When working on the carb problem last week I found a white wire (possibly light grey) that comes off the front side of the motor on the right side of the carburetor. It has a female connect on it end.

any ideas what this wire is for?

Low oil indicator light - You cart may not have the light next to the key - unless it was a Freedom model from the Factory...

You could add it, if you wanted. It's not a needed item - Those EZGO motors don't normally use oil. It's very rare to have a cart that needs additional oil between oil changes. Your cart = your call. I'll have to see if there is an OEM oil light kit available as I've never added one or researched the accessory...

The oil pressure sender is a N/C switch that provides the ground for the oil pressure light or buzzer. To wire it you come off the switched side of the solenoid to a light or buzzer, then to the sensor. It probably is sold as a fuel gage/oil light combo. They are mounted in the key switch plate in some stock applicatiions. It is a special order for freedom models.(my workhorse came with the combo)

just thinking about this some more. What impact does lifting the cart have on this sensor? Since my oil level doesn't read the same on the dipstick, I was wondering if that would also have an impact on how the pressure is reported?

no affect, the sensor is controlled with oil pressure from the oil pump.
