'83 Ez Go Project
I'm 16 years old and I want a project to do over the winter.
In my searches I found a 1983 Ez-Go without a motor. I was wondering if I could easily fit a honda (or copie) go kart motor into it. Something between 5.5 - 9 hp I don't have a welder so it would have to be almost a bolt on thing. Small welds I can get away with my mechanic doing for me. I don't have much cash and putting in another ez-go motor would not be realistic for me. Thanks for your help! Matt |

Re: '83 Ez Go Project
Matt the kicker on that cart is ,, was the engine a 2 or 4 cycle , 4 cycle engins have a shifter on the rear end with fwd . rev built into the rear end ..2 cycle engine run both fwd and rev and the engine controls direction with no shifting inside the rear end . Also either way you have to have a clutch and belt that lines up with the rear end clutch ,,usually swaping out engins on an old 2 cycle cart isn't an option.

Re: '83 Ez Go Project
If it is indeed a 1983, then it would be a 2 cycle. Pass on that cart, you answered your own question when you said funds were low. The cart cart would only be worth the frame / steering - and both of those are out of date nor easy access parts / accessories...
