Alot of life left clean it up with crous cloth and check the bushing in the sliding sheave.
Check the arms for wobble on the pivot pins.

AND GET THE EXHAUST OUT THE HOLE.

You need what is called a grunt tool. You unthread the spyder, that part with the little rollers, then the sliding sheave will come off the shaft. Where are you located?

Can't find a good pic of the tool.
Think I got one, not it has three pins that reach down and engage the spyder.

Did you pull a plate off the clutch?

I know that there are different opinions on many thngs, but when I see this clutch, I'm looking at a severely worn outer sheave and can only imagine the sleave wear as well. Something like this IMO is way past due for a new replacement clutch...

Never hurts to give the old one a cleaning and try for more life, but I think she's a gonner...

Shag, Mike said it looks as if the movable sheave has a lot of wear on the face. It is hard to tell on my screen, is there a groove or concave area on the face?

Mike I was looking at the tower buttons and the spyder it doesn't look like there has been any real wear in that area.
