Default bucket seats in the ezgo

trying different seats for the ez go and a good friend had these out of a van. I had to redo the base of the seats buy cutting them in half, (they were to thick ) a wood base had to go on the bottom so you could staple the fabric back into the same postion. the top of the seat i will have to fasten to the back of the cab. the bottom part of the seat will be fasten to the engine cover after i carpet the top of it...what do u think?

well we have picture of how this works ..first you have to split the seats apart, then shorten the height of the on you sit on and replace the bottom with a piece of wood so the fabric holds tight. step two , take the back rest apart and place two bolts into the frame (we welded them )and the place the fabric back on. Step 3, bolt them to the back of the cab ,my father helped hold the seats as we put the bolts threw. next line up the seats on the bottom with the top back rests screw them into the cover above the engine, this way you can access the engine with ease just take the bottom seats out ...

Bifferd,

Nice job on the seats and perfect timing for this project. I just finished rebuilding the engine on my '92 marathon. Now I need to adjust and /or clean the carb.

I picked up a pair of bucket seats last summer and they would work well in my golf cart. Do you have any detail pictures of how you did the seat bottoms?

Thanks,

Clem

i only have the ones shown, the bottom seats were to high, so we had to cut them down ,what i did was i took the frame out of the bottom were it bolts to the floor on a pair of tracks (the ones you can adjust in the car),then i ended up cutting the frame of the seat to fit .the springs are still in there and i placed a piece of wood so you could take the fabric and strecth it out again ... hopefully this helps...

Thanks, Bifferd.

I understand what you are saying. I've never done any upholstery but your pictorial makes it look doable.
