Stik, isn't it a pretty good guess that its a bad V-regulator, on such a simple car? There isn't much else it can be, the way I see it. Unless the wiring has really been cannibalized.

Mike - His new battery is down to 11.8 v so, yes, bad voltage regulator is likely. Was having a hard time understanding the symptoms . Thanks, Mike. Plant: Next should be voltage regulator test by measuring voltage on battery while running cart in neutral or wheels jacked up. Should read 14.5 - 15.5 volts if VR is good. If only reading battery volts (12v - 12.6v) a full "field test" (by momentarily grounding the VR green wire while running) will test the generator winding. If winding is good, grounding the green wire will result in a high voltage (up to 17 v) on the battery. Do this only for a short time as the generator is at full output. Good luck - RAY

Well so far recently no creeping starter problem. Tore out all unneccesary wires that were still attached to the cart, like lights. taillights, beeper. Turns out green wire was unplugged to the regulator, so the batteries were not gettign recharged, but tested that and it looks good. Removed the back, and will probably make a 40"x44" flat bed for it for hauling plants. We do have to rig up a new air filter for it, but that's no big deal, just need a 1-1/2" hose and filter box. The G9A is back in action, and she looks like a keeper! Thanks for all the help!
