Re: Swingarm brackets...
I was just thinking about the 2" and 4" drop / lowering shackles for truck / pick-up rear ends that are @ O'Reilly's... They have a "female" end that would fit into the existing brackets for the swingarm, and the lower mounts would be for the swingarm 2 to 4" lower. then you can weld a support bracket \| to the shackle to keep it from moving. I could be way wrong, but I just thought I would through it out there. Just an idea, but it would definitely be cheaper if you can source and fab yourself.
I was just thinking.... you could most likely get the stock shackles and they would be a a better length...and cheaper...maybe free if you know somebody! |

Re: Swingarm brackets...
The shackle-drops will need to be welded to whichever end does not have a bushing(on my Marathon, they are welded to the swing-arm)This is also a good time to move the rear-axle rearward to correct for the forward-movement caused by a lift-kit.If they are not attached at one end or the other, they will swing and cause a really interesting handling issue(as my DAD found out when he didn't listen about the welding.)Hope this helps.

Re: Swingarm brackets...
Move the rear axle rearward? Rearward on the swingarm?

Re: Swingarm brackets...
When you add the shackles you can swing them rearward and move the swingarm back.Mine was off 2" since I have a TXT-body on a Marathon-chassis,so this made correcting that easy.Just bolt the shackles in place kinda snug, pull the axle back to where you want it,block both tires, measure both sides from the frame to the axle to make sure its' square, and tack the shackles to set everything. Then weld when ready.
