2008 YDRA Pop or a Clunk
My new to me cart seems to have developed a strange noise. I haven't heard it, but my wife and her friends assure me it's real. The cart seems to run fine, but after stopping, and using the brake there is a loud noise, some where between a pop, or clunk and or a bang. She said it is kind of like the noise when you step on the gas and the brake releases only much much louder. It was also described as something coming loose or "popping off", or the cart getting hit by a golf ball. It does not sound like two pieces of metal banging together. At first they said it was coming from the brake pedal, but I think the noise is being channeled there from the engine or transaxle. It is very intermittent, it happened twice on a round of golf Friday and three times today. These are the only times so far. Could the primary or secondary clutch be sticking, then clunk when it comes to it's normal neutral position, or could this be bad news for the transaxle? I don't know where to start looking, I drive it then stop and quickly lift the seat to see if I can see anything with the clutches but no luck so far.
thanks for your help, brooks |

Re: 2008 YDRA Pop or a Clunk
it could be you primary clutch poping back into neutral postion. remove the drivebelt and see if you can manually push the clutch in. if you can is there lots of resistance or it is notchy feeling.
yami carts love going thru primary clutches. |

Re: 2008 YDRA Pop or a Clunk
Thanks for the reply, the primary is smooth as glass with no resistance. I thought it might be the secondary after watching the Plowman's video of the clutch not returning to 1st, or neutral.
