Default Carryall 2 stalls under load, starts after a rest

Kinda like its owner, lol. Kawasaki 350cc motor ( I think that's the size, have not owned but a short time) Trying to pull a drag in horse pasture, is ok but if you're not running full throttle, will stall out. After letting it rest a bit, will start back, with a little choke. This has happened a few times. Suggestions?

I'm also thinking of modding so it will idle, the previous owner claimed that would destroy this motor as it was not designed to idle. Any truth to that?

Finally had a chance to work on the carryall, spark was good, fuel pump ok, the carb just needed to be removed and cleaned. Not sure why the problem only manifested itself when pulling a load. It's running great now though.

I still would appreciate some expert opinions on whether these Kawasaki motors are ok to set up to idle? I'd really like to do that if it won't destroy the motor.

Some guys on here have done it. I haven't heard anything negative about it as far as motor longevity. Other than the motor just running more, I don't know what specifically would "destroy" the motor by setting it up to idle.

Welcome to BGW Bbostick!
Again... Springbok is right on the money!

The Kawi FE engines were designed for many other applications besides just golf cars!
not only that... Club Car has "key start" carts that idle! (with the same engine)
I set my cart up to idle some 4 or 5 years ago and haven't "destroyed" my engine.
so, IMO... the previous owner is blowing smoke, and just doesn't know!

One thing to be aware of though...
just don't let it idle for extended periods, (longer then 5 or so minutes at a time)
it may carbon up the spark plug! (I've been there...)
