My Grinding 1986 DS
I have just bought a 1986 Club Car DS, it has some issues but the main one that I am having is that there is a loud grinding sound that occurs and I am not quite sure what it is. Any help would be great, thanks!

Re: My Grinding 1986 DS
Grinding when? You're going to have to be more specific.

It is grinding whenever it is going, basically all the time

Re: My Grinding 1986 DS
Does it get louder as you go faster (speed related)? Or does it get louder as you rev up the motor? Can you tell where it seems to be coming from?

It just stays no matter how fast, but I think it's in the rearend/ differential

I'm pretty sure Springbok might be just a little sarcastic... and I don't blame him.
WE can't hear what you hear, so you need to be a little more specific! It could be a number of things... from the engine, to the starter/generator, drive clutch, driven clutch, transaxle, or the brakes! Does the grinding get faster as the cart goes faster? Does it get louder as you go faster? Is it steady from start to full throttle? Is it grinding? or Whining? I could go on, and on... |

Re: My Grinding 1986 DS
The grinding sounds like it's coming from the differential, it almost sounds like it is not in gear all the way. I adjusted it to the limit and it still happens. The grinding happens not matter what, speeding up, slowing down, at full throttle.
