I would agree with that as well. Had to replace mine recently.

The high speed magnet is perfect for removing the electronic RPM limiter. Plum Quick motors utilize high speed magnets in their motors. That's the only way to make the OEM controller allow higher speeds than the factory programs them for. However, a Plum Quick motor and a factory motor with a high speed magnet are not the same thing. A Plum Quick motor is completely re-worked and built for speed. A magnet is simply added to make sure the controller will allow it to run the higher speeds. A factory motor with a high speed magnet should run 20-22 mph on level ground.

Thanks for all the help. It was the speed sensor so I have to find out how much the guy will charge me. Im not too sure which motor I have... on the motor it says the part # is EJ4-4001. Does anyone have a link to the cheapest speed sensor and high speed magnet for mine?

Contact Dawg above your post for fair pricing on genuine CC parts... There are some cheaper ones out there that are made in the likes of China that are said to be total junk...

Does the speed sensor look like a Top Hat or is it flat?

I would not use car audio power cable, the outer case isn't chemical resistant for the high acid environment of a standard battery golf cart.

If you want to use 12v AGM's then you will loose range because they don't have the Ah rating a FLA battery does. They will work fine with most chargers though, it's the GEL batteries they require special chargers, not AGM.
