Default Ugly Top: What color Should I Paint It

Got a red limo cart. The previous owner spray bombed the top with some ugly cheap spray paint and no prep. I have it stripped and prepped, but I don't know what color to paint it. Should I paint white for some contrast to the red or should I paint it red as the same color as the cart? Or some other color?
Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

I'm painting both sides. The PO was kind enough to spray bomb the whole top.
Thought I was done prepping, wrong.
Any suggestions on chemical stripping a plastic top.

I used a product called Soy Strip for marine applications and it worked out well without damaging the plastics used on outboard engines. Keep in mind, anything that can strip paint is harsh on your skin. I don't remember it being real aromatic so it was safe to use indoors. Don't remember the brand but Google is your friend.

I painted my top matt black with Rustolium spray on bed liner. Just cleaned it, scuffed it, spayed it with Bull Dog paint adhesion spray, let that set up fpor about 20 min. Came out really nice. Not to mention if it gets nicked or scratched I can just touch it up with no issues.

The absolute best way to strip spray paint from a body or top is kleen strip furniture stripper. You can get it at Walmart or pretty much anywhere. Get the aerosol cans. Forget all the hassle and work painting the crap on, aerosol cans are the greatest thing ever.

Spray em good. One can will do an entire golf cart body usually. The spray paint will instantly start doing the snap crackle pop rice crispy thing. After 15 minutes blow all the stripper off with a pressure washer. Done. Let it dry and start your scuffing and prepping.

I can generally strip an entire golf cart body is about a half hour down to the original color/material.

For the roof I really recommend satin black krylon fusion. In my opinion the matte/flat black looks like it’s sun faded before you ever even drive it. The satin gives it a nice finish without being glossy and shiny. Pretty close to what the oem black plastic roof color and finish would be. The other advantage to satin over gloss is that if it scratches or wears, it’s very, very easy to touch up seamlessly. I’ve done almost every roof I’ve had this way and the krylon fusion sticks better than anything else. It’s on for good unless you drive under some really stiff branches, or use an over-the-top style enclosure. It can kinda “sand” the paint off in the corners, but as said it’s so easy to touch up I don’t even worry about it.
