Horn too loud
We now have a winter home in a community in central Florida. The cart paths are for carts, bikers, and walkers. Lot of older folks walking and biking on paths. When I come up behind them in my electric cart they don’t always hear me. When I use my horn they sometimes jump because it is so loud. It is a stock horn.
Any ideas on what kind of horn would be more gentle on there ears. Would like something with a different sound like bells ringing or whatever don’t just want to put tape over my current horn. |

Seriously, there are some motorcycle horns on Amazon that are volume adjustable. I have one and it works fine. The reviews are not good but I tried it for around $7.00. It's working great for 2 years now. But as Capt. Lenny said, a rag might be all you need. |

Re: Horn too loud
Just get a gas cart and they'll hear that for sure.
Or put a foam cup over the horn, that usually works. |

Re: Horn too loud
Cover the end of the horn with masking tape. Should quiet it down a bit but not too much. Or duct tape.
Or get a set of the la cucaracha air horns. Thinking about that for my caroche |

Re: Horn too loud
I have the same problem at times, my cart has an Ooga horn. I give a short burst(just a tap) from 25 feet away or so. its enough to get them to look without scaring them like 10 feet away does.

Re: Horn too loud
I had the same problem when I had a winter home. I got one of these and attached it to the roof support. https://www.amazon.com/Schylling-Bik...RG/ref=sr_1_25

Re: Horn too loud
Going to try WalterM6 idea of a bulb horn. I have one from an old bike. Easy to attach and will see how it works with the walkers
