Default 1999 Yamaha G16 E

New to the forum.

A friend gave me the cart for my son and I to build as a project together.

We are not really sure what all we want to do with it, just yet. Sure we have some ideas, and there are some really nice carts on this site. Plenty to look at for sure.

I think the first thing is to get it running correctly first, them build from there. The cart has sat for about three years in a warehouse untouched.

It is a 36 volt electric with six Trojan batteries. I have been able to revive the batteries, somewhat, but they are not as good as new. So batteries are in short order.

We want to put a lift and bigger tires, a back seat, and it currently has no roof. Other than that it is in pretty good shape. I'll see if I can post a picture soon.

Really I am wondering if we should do all this work on an electric car, as opposed to a gas one. ????

Welcome! What a hard choice. I would go the gas route, but that's me. Read/ask/and enjoy the ride. Later dave

Yea, I was thinking about that. I like the electric, because it is quiet in the neighborhood, but like the gas for the performance.

Maybe, I should rebuild this one for my wife and daughter, and build a monster for my son and I together.

Yea, I have always been a car guy. I have built many in the past.

Maybe it is time to add a "T" to "car"
:)

Great it worked, now for pics of the carT.

I'll get a few and post them.

I think I will start a new thread when we decide what we are going to do with it to track the build.

As you can see from the above pic, I like HP. This is the engine I built for the Cobra. I sold this car awhile back, but I built it, every nut bolt and screw.

This is what I have to start with.

Not too bad, huh.

All I have done so far is give it a good bath. It sat in a warehouse for the last three years.
