G9 and Jakes disc brakes
well I broke down and added the Jakes kit. it was a interesting fit to say the least. The bracket for the cylinder was not even close to fitting. the spindles shaft are at a completely different angle than the stock Yamaha. the camber was thrown off by a mile. really widened the cart by at least 3 inches. the instructions are missing a lot of information... but it is done...i have attached a couple photos.

Re: G9 and Jakes disc brakes
believe it or not the calipers are made by Wilwood they have a separate division for small calipers too bad they didn't make them look like there race calipers. I emailed Jake's about the bracket but haven't heard back yet. I am sure they sent the wrong one. I was supposed to have to drill 1 hole to make it work. LOL
thanks cant wait to try them out. Gotta finish the wiring i am converting the key switch to a Longacre switch panel with a push button start and making harness for the the light and turn signals next. |

Re: G9 and Jakes disc brakes
Installed the new starter and ignition switches yesterday came out really good. The interesting part is going to get the vanguard to shut down when you turn off the power.
I am going to try and put the mag kill on a relay that will switch to ground when powered down. More to come |
