![]() I had a custom trailer hitch receiver made for the front of my cart. Once the receiver was installed, I applied my weight (200 lbs) to the hitch which made the front leaf springs flex somewhat (bow upwards). I'm afraid that the weight of my boat may snap the leaf springs. It's just so much easier manuvering my boat with a front hitch. I know I can get HD springs for the front, but am I waisting my time and money since I will be adding HD leafs to the rear once I purchase a rear seat. What will the ride be like with HD leafs all around?

![]() if any weight is gonna be applied i think i would have made the hitch a part of the front axle so the springs would be out of the picture

![]() The hitch is mounted to the front axle, but due to the lever action (since the hitch extends forward from the axle) it twists the whole axle, applying pressure upward on the leaf springs.

![]() ya i could see it twisting the axle down cauzing the leafs to flex, I have put HD front leafs on tons of lifted carts, especially with a spindle style lift, doesnt hurt to have it a little stiffer up front, it may ride ruff but with a rear seat you will like it anyways

![]() I remembered the real reason I need a front hitch....with a flip down rear seat, a rear mouted hitch would be under the step. That won't work.

![]() if you havent orderded the back seat yet i have a rear seat that the footrest flips up it is very sturdy and made out of aluminium works great for the trailer pulling and also to shorten it to made it take up less space on a trailer or in the garage
