![]() My nearest Club Car dealer is like 75 miles. I'm thinking of reprogramming the computer. At that distance I cannot afford to play around too much with the settings. I was wondering if you guys have any advice on the settings and the effect they have on performance? My average use is on trails and fields with almost no steep sections. I also drive on the street up to 2 to 3 miles sometimes and would like more speed. I believe it is set to the lowest setting now because it's about like my G19 Yamaha in speed only slightly faster. If I go with the highest speed setting will I lose all low end power? There are a few gentle rises I have to climb like you might encounter on a normal golf course but nothing steep. Any advice? thanks

![]() Take it to the Dealer and tell him you want the most speed you can get , without having to pay the $100+ for speed code 4.
If he checks it and it's already at speed code 3, then he will have to order speed code 4 to get more speed. I think speed code 3 is 12 mph and speed code 4 is 19.5 mph. If yo definately want 19.5 mph then let him know ahead of time, it takes a few days to order . PS. you can always GPS the speed to find out if it is set for code 3 already |

Or you can order a PQ motor for $300 delivered and with 18" tires get 21-22 mph with a bit more torque. |

![]() I'm curious about the speed settings also. I'll GPS mine tomorrow and see how fast it's running. Am I correct in stating that I should only let the service folks screw around with the computer on these carts? (I'm a new owner).

![]() I have a lifted 03 IQ cart. With my 22" tires my top speed is 18.5 on flat ground. Still running stock 3.2 hp with 250 amp Curtis controller for now. I am planning on upgrading but really have not found but a couple of times I didnt have enough power to go up a semi steep incline.
Scubabud, tell me more about this PQ motor. |
