crash12888, I haven't looked at all the build pics yet, so I'm not sure, but was that atv a shaft drive for front and rear? If so, did you have to get new shafts built, or have the stock ones lengthened, or was the quad the right length to fit the cart? I've got a Kawasaki 300 4x4 that I was considering pulling the drivetrain/suspension out of and putting under a cart, but it is slightly shorter than the cart. It is wider than the cart by a couple inches though, which is a plus, but I am thinking I'd like to widen it another 4", at least up front, if I build it. This means not only would I need to have at least one shaft built for the 4 wheel drive, but also would need to have the front axles built/lengthened to make things wider.

Did you have to do any of that, and if so, did you build the parts, or modify, or have them built?

Thanks.

I cut the frame in front of the engine so the suspension would still cycle like the factory designed it to. Then installed the front frame section inside the cart frame. I had to cut the front shaft and put theends on a longer piece of DOM tubing. Check the link, it should show everything. Mitch

Were you nervous chopping a perfectly good quad in half? :)

It looks like it worked out very well. If I don't end up trading my Kawasaki 4x4 for 2 lifted, custom golf carts, I might just build one like yours afterall. I'm hoping this guy wants to trade though. Although he might want to trade my BMW instead, which means I'll still have the Kawasaki, plus 6 carts... Oh geez, what am I getting myself into?! LOL

lokisbuddy, that is what I planned to do on my ZX6 motor swap/conversion in one of the carts. I want to find a dead banshee and use the front suspension and rear axle/swingarm for the build, and mate the zx6 motor to it. Should be a fun little beast if I ever get around to starting on it.

The 4x4 conversion might be the first full-on custom though, since I already have the 4x4 quad to use as a donor.

I figured the 600cc was better than the 1100cc I originally was going to do. Thankfully I sold the ZX11 before I could get that project fully into my head. lol

Heck, rifter has a CBR1000 engine in his, and I know of a few 1100's out there. This should be piddly compared to those. If I'm gonna kill myself, it's going to be while having FUN! ;)
