1998 48 volt regen club car
ok, 1998 48 volt reagon club car, its running real slow, i had a post up but it got lost when BGW was hacked, i think someone (sry, forget who) was goin to find out, or try to figure out diff things i can test to try and find the prob its running so slow, um... yea... cant remember much, cept i do know the battery pack is putting out the proper voltage, OH, and with the tires off and the throttle at full i can stop the hubs from turning by just grabing them, but they do spin in opposite directions while jacked up and manually turning them, i no, lot of info, but it all used to be in a 2 page thread, thanks, i really wanna get this thing up and running

motor a little more difficult you have to pull it out of the cart to check the brushes, the reagon solenoid you need to check to make sure its not avtivating when it shouldn,t...........jack the rear up put it in gear and hit the pedal..........watch that resisto coil and see if it gets glowing red and how long it took...........................................

Hey Trapper... Sorry it took so long!
Here's what I found... You have 4 lugs on your motor labeled L1, L2, A1, & A2 With a digital multimeter set the dial to 100V DC take the black or negitive lead of your meter and connect it to the negitive side of your LAST battery in the run...(the main black battery cable going to the frame or ???) You may need an extra hand to help! take the positive lead of your meter and put it on the A1 lug of your motor... (Ummm... MAKE SURE you touch the lug only, and not the lug AND the motor casing together... you'll see sparks!) You should read at least 48 Volts... key on or off, full throttle or not! With the key on... on the A2 lug, you should 48 Volts no throttle and O Volts Full throttle! (tried it forward, but NOT reverse!) on the F1 lug, you should read 0 volts no throttle, to 3.8 volts full throttle IN REVERSE ONLY!!! the F2 lug will read the same in FORWARD ONLY!!! (for the F1 & F2 lugs, you may see the voltages run up to 6 volts as your pressing down the "GO" pedal then drop down to 3.8v... that seems to be what mine did, so it must be normal!) if your A1 does not read 48 volts your batteries are not connected correctly if your F1 & F2 lugs are not reading correctly, your controller may be bad... if your reading all good voltages, your motor may be bad! What concerns me, is that in your previous post (B4 BGW got wiped out) You said... Quote:
when you get the jacks back, (from under the Gator) let me know what you found out! |

Wow!!!
Unusual! did you (by chance) hear a (Solenoid) "click" when it took off??? (or slowed down for that matter!) You could try and loosen the connections on the solenoid, then retighten them... (and check for corrosion) or if it's accessable while driving it, tap on the solenoid (lightly) with a screwdriver handle... Sorry... but I'm out of suggestions... Maybe someone else can step in! Hope everything works out! |
