![]() This is how it got started. Believed starter needed brushes, read on here and found out brushes are good, needed to blow carbon out ,did that everything tested good worked great. Then, seen solenoid was sparking when pedal was pressed, tried to tightened lugs broke solenoid ,went to town and got a ford solenoid wired back up , blue=key switch hot, orange= foot pedal hot? well now im getting no power on orange when pedal is pressed. solenoid &starter works fine just no power from orange wire.
Ohm out gear lever micro switches everything tested ok. only negative 12 runs through them ? I can rigg this think to run but rather not. how can the orange wire be hot when it comes from the green wire and green wire come from black wire from micro switch which is frame ground? |

![]() The orange wire will measure hot when the key is on, but when you push the gas pedal down it should go to ground to energize the solenoid.

![]() now if you go from blue wire to orange yeah 12v b/c its a open circuit. but i dont see how orange goes to ground will work when the solnoid is looking for a hot to enegize the solenoid. if i touch the blue wire to where the orange wire should go the solenoid kicks in b/c blue wire is +12v to neg post

![]() I'm glad you got it running, and I'm sorry you had to talk to yourself through your whole process,
I would have answered if I had some clue about Precedents! But, I do know Club Car DS's, so do me a favor... Ya' know that Ford solenoid you put in? Replace it with a CC solenoid ASAP! you may have a melt down if you don't! CC solenoids are "continuous duty", Ford starter solenoids are "intermittent duty"! ![]() |
