Tie Rod Assembly Nut
Purchased a new Tie Rod Assembly with tow bar and they only shipped one nut!!
Am I missing something here, or do I only need one? |

Re: Tie Rod Assembly Nut
Take the tie rod end to the hardware store and tell them you need a hex nut for it. There are about a quarter. You don't need stainless, just zinc plated.......

Re: Tie Rod Assembly Nut
You threw me with "tow bar" but a standard tie rod nut I believe is a 5/16 fine thread

Re: Tie Rod Assembly Nut
I think the tow bar is what hooks to that "ghost" spindle arm on the right side! Ever wondered what that is for? I hear it is somehow for towing.......

Re: Tie Rod Assembly Nut
Its actually a tow pin
http://www.franklingolfcar.com/E-Z-G...mbly-p/264.htm any idea on how tight I need to go on the ball joint nuts? Nothing coming up in search except I will get some steel washers while I'm at it |

Re: Tie Rod Assembly Nut
Just snug it up tight enuf to make the tie rod end "seat" into the tie rod. Since the tie rod nut id castellated, you are fine if you insert a cotter pin.

Re: Tie Rod Assembly Nut
Ok, silly question....
With the same amount of ball joint threads on each end, left tire is makeing a sharp right, while right tire is straight. Can I get this toed in correctly? Or do I need to turn the ball joint in more and start from a pretty close straight? |
