Default 1991 Cub Car gas hard starting.

I have a 1991 club car gas that starts hard once it's running it runs good and will restart fine if it only sits for a minute or two. No smoking or knocking when runs. If it sits five minutes then it's a bear to start all over again. I've just replaced plug, carb, fuel filters and air filters seems to be getting good spark and gas. I've dumped and cleaned fuel tank. Any suggestions?

It sounds like your fuel pump may be going bad and not getting enough fuel to the carburetor for it to crank. I had similar symptoms with a Yamaha cart and a new fuel pump fixed mine.

It seems to have good flow to the carb when I take the line off and crank it. Also the plug is got a lot of gas on it as well. I'll give it a shot thanks

Check and make sure that your fuel pump pulse line is clear.

Also make sure that the brass filter (red arrow) on the outside of the fuel pump is clean and not clogged with dirt/debris. Brake cleaner works well.

Really appreciate the advise guys. I took the fuel pump apart cleaned it out and the vent on the side. No change, I actually had it running for 20 min left it off for ten minutes went back and couldn't get it started then I noticed gas was dripping out 2 small holes on each end of the muffler. Any thoughts?

It sounds like you're getting plenty of gas then. When the cart won't start (after you've cranked it for a while), take the spark plug out and see if it's wet and dripping with fuel. If it is, then you likely have a spark issue. It might be that your ignition coil is on it's way out. Dry it off and hold it against your motor (to ground it) with a good pair of insulated pliers and try cranking again, if you have consistent spark then you should hear the plug clicking and visually see it sparking across the contact.

I assume that your air cleaner is clear and it's getting plenty of air (you can easily test this by just removing the air filter and trying to start it).

Your engine only needs three things in order to run: air, fuel, & spark. Since you obviously seem to have fuel, it's likely to be starved for either air or spark.
