Default help diagnosing whine noise

I had my cart at the dealer last year and he said my starter was making the noise. I had the OEM starter rebuilt couple years ago and can't believe it's bad already but maybe? Cart runs fine just getting louder. Any suggestions where to start? Thanks

Sounds like the bearing in the starter/generator. It’s not too hard to replace and like $5 for the bearing

Thank you. So when I had it rebuilt a couple years back, is that something they would’ve replaced? I took it to the place that does all our tractor starters. I’ll pull it and get new bearing.

Chances are they just replaced the brushes and cleaned everything up. Those bearings don’t go bad often but when they do boy they make a racket.

You can be sure that’s it by removing the belt and giving the pulley a spin by hand.
