help diagnosing whine noise
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pbe9NKeW9A0
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jo9KOpTmiUc I had my cart at the dealer last year and he said my starter was making the noise. I had the OEM starter rebuilt couple years ago and can't believe it's bad already but maybe? Cart runs fine just getting louder. Any suggestions where to start? Thanks |

Re: help diagnosing whine noise
Sounds like the bearing in the starter/generator. It’s not too hard to replace and like $5 for the bearing

Re: help diagnosing whine noise
Thank you. So when I had it rebuilt a couple years back, is that something they would’ve replaced? I took it to the place that does all our tractor starters. I’ll pull it and get new bearing.

Re: help diagnosing whine noise
Chances are they just replaced the brushes and cleaned everything up. Those bearings don’t go bad often but when they do boy they make a racket.
You can be sure that’s it by removing the belt and giving the pulley a spin by hand. |
