Those sliding things can be a huge pain in the rear. I looked on the guard where they had been, it will be a little cleaner or shinier looking, and took a tiny amount of Liquid Nails to hold them in place until I got the bolts/screws back in them. Any thick adhesive with work, it just takes some patience. If it takes upwards of 30 minutes, you're probably doing it ok, it is a royal PITA. Don't go get a sledge hammer or something, just take your time and it will all work A OK. Someone else may have the "official" way to do it, but heck, this works, and knowing Club Cars, it probably takes some special tool, but I just do what works. :)

The bottom of the guard runs parallel to the rocker top.

You have to move the sliders until they do. It was on there before, so I assure you it will go back, it just takes a little time and is a bit nerve racking.
