Default 88 marathon conversion

I am wanting to swap my marathon from a resistor cart to a controller cart. ScottyB has the conversion kit to do this. Right now, my funds are limited and I cant afford it. My question, has anyone ever swapped one using a newer cart as a donor? If I can do it and save some money, I'll try it. If not, I'll be waiting to purchase one from Scotty!

You could use a 92-94 marathon for a donor cart. After that the carts got lighter and the controllers got smaller & throttle type changed = not a good match. The question is if you had a late model Marathon why would gut it ?

I've done a lot of work to mine cosmetically and I like that body style. I've been trying to find a wrecked or not working cart to use. I really want the conversion kit package C54, but I don't have the $$ for it right now. It is on my savings list though.

I hear ya

The Marathon used a 300 amp control - stock
and the TXT went to 275 amps (lighter cart ) but different throttle input.
The late marathon components would be a bolt in upgrade.
