Default Alltrax DCX400 Troubleshoot ???

I have an Alltrax DCX400PDS controller whereby the LED Green light does not turn off when the key is switched off. I have verified that the wiring is correct, etc. WIth the KS off and the Run/Maintenance switch in run the light gives 4 green flashes (ITS input) and then goes to a steady green with the key off or on. Any thoughts or input on what is causing this.

The key switch may not be turning the power to the controller off?

I thought that the green light stayed on all the time anyways.

The green light indicates the controller is powered up. I don't think they are 'on' all the time....

that's not good cause mine is on right know with the switch off. I didn't notice this until I did the 48v conversion.

That is correct once the KS is activated the controller identifies/ confirms the throttle input with a series of green LED flashes. In my case it is a EZGO PDS therefore it should flash 4 times once the KS is turned to Run and then go to a constant green green if all is normal/ ready to run.

Somebody who knows will chime in but all of the conversions I have built all had the controller power down when not in use.

could the wire be backwards on the solenoid. When I first powered up and press the gas peddle it would try to move and then just flash the green light. So I took off the resistors that was on the old 36v solenoid and swapped the two small wire's everything worked get except the green light stays on?

Solenoids are not polarity sensistive.
It is important you have the resistor and diode in place?
What solenoid are you using?

Yes, The Green power light should be OFF when the key switch is off. When you turn on the switch the AllTrax should flash indicating which type of throttle input it senses and then go solid green which is the ready state. With the green light on, your controller is continually active and pulling voltage from the pack.

You need a volt meter to determine if you are getting voltage out of the key switch when it is in the off position, if you are, your switch is bad. My guess is as mentioned above, a wire maybe connected wrong, or there is a short.

Now this is critical... Is this a new install and it's not working right from install? Or has it been working ok and this fault just happened? Need to determine if it is an installation issue or a failure.
