melted the wire off my f/r switch!
I just bought a 94 marathon 6 passenger cart with a lift and 22" tires. With my whole family on it we kept smelling it get hot, found the bottom wire off the f/r switch was melting. It was loose and I tried to tighten it but the stud was stripped, I think from arcing. I tried to tighten the stud to the switch but it twisted off, I was going to replace the f/r switch but can I just put a new stud in the switch or should I put a new switch on or even an hd unit? When I was driving last the 4 gauge wire on the switch burnt off! I also noticed the insulation on the wire on the drivers side is starting to melt.

on a stretched unit, I would suggest a complete HD F&R unit. Scotty has the bars to upgrade an existing unit, or I have a new complete assembly.
Can you take some pics of the burnt out unit? |

rabbit, i am sorry-not chosing favorites-just first to come to mind. also, you need to talk the gurus into making your batt repair into a sticky. just a thought. on the other hand, this would just be a long list of stickys and no interaction-no fun. jim

Yes, I have em on hand with the superior copper alloy bus bars. They are made from an 'ultra conductive high heat resistant' copper alloy. The imports are not made from such alloys.
