Confused..... Trying to buy...
Alright, I am BRAND NEW to this Golf Cart thing as of yesterday when I decided I wanted one for the yard..... I have decided to go electric , don't know exactly why (lol) but here I am.... I have found 2 prospects . The first is a 2002 Club Car 48 with a rear seat and one year old batteries for $1300. The second choise is a 2002 EZ GO 36 with 3 year old batteries for the same $1300...... I will be keeping the cart outside and just use around yard... any thoughts, please help....

Re: Confused..... Trying to buy...
The Club Car sounds like the best deal with the rear seat. That seat alone is usually more than $300. I have a stock 02 club car DS IQ 48 volt and did have a EZGO Series 36 volt cart, and the 48 volt system seems to have more torque and speed. If you are planning on lifting the cart and adding larger tires, some of the guys here can tell you which would be better, but they would probably need you to answer a few questions.
The batteries are expensive for these carts, so it would be good to know how well they have been maintained. You could start by making sure that the water in each cell is covering the lead plates. You could ask if distilled water was used instead of tap water. You could also ask if the batteries were ran all the way down before recharging. This should never be done, and will greatly reduce their life span. If you have the time, and the seller would let you, a good idea would be to check the specific gravity of each cell. You can buy one of these testers for less than $5 at most auto parts stores. There is a chart somewhere on this site that you could find if you did a search. Good Luck |

Re: Confused..... Trying to buy...
There should be a serial on the passenger side glove box. You do realize that cart has a lift with stock tires? Just wondering.
