Default Ezgo no Go

Have a friend that has a ezgo cart lifted tires and wheels was driving it arond his ranch and it just quit, batteries were low on water filled them and the charger won't start . The numbers on the plate are A403 and below that 1571417. He has already replaced the controler once , says he has had it . With those #'s which manuel would I look for for trouble shooting? Also the forward reverse is on the dash. Thanks

He is his own worst enemy. Batteries need water and clean tight connections to stay healthy ~ otherwise they can die and even burn some controllers up!

First you need to determine which drive system the 2003 ezgo is. Is the F&R switch a lever below the seat front or a toggle switch on the dash?

Lever is Series
Toggle is PDS

You have a PDS cart. The batteries are likely too low on voltage for the charger to be able to recognize the pack. It won't turn on until it see something over 24v .... use a 12v charger to charge the batteries 2 at a time until each pair measures 12v. THen reconnect the charger and it SHOULD take over... if it does LET the charger FINISH and shut off on it's own.....
You will need a digital voltmeter to work on the cart.

Not according to the #s you gave? Somebody could have converted it?
How many watering holes in each battery? 3 for 6v and 4 for 8v.
