Default EZGO series cart won't go but clicks

I have an ezgo that suddendly stopped working. We have checked the motor by bypassing the controller. The motor works. The solinoid is clicking when the pedal is pressed. The reed switch does not seem to be the problem. The AXE controller is getting 38 volts (fully charged batteries). I bypassed the controller by connecting M- to B6- and the wheels don't spin (indicating a good controller). I have cleaned and tightened almost all connections.

Still nothing happens. Any ideas?

When you jumper between M- and B- on the controller, you have to activate the solenoid. If at that point the wheels don't spin, you have a bad wire between the motor and the F&R or controller. If they do spin, then you have a bad controller.

I was doing some more troubleshooting and following a step by step trouble shoot.

Are all four posts on the direction selector supposed to be at the reference voltage (38V)? If so, the "c" post only reads 19.4V. The post also looks like the plastic mount has melted some. The nut is rusted and the others are still shiny and silver and register 38V. On the other side (where the copper contact ring is), there is an indention into the ring about the thickness of a dime where the tension bolt head contacts the copper ring on the back side.

Make sense? Is there a way to bypass the direction selector?
