Re: Golf Cart Batteries Leaking
For just lights and a radio, is 10A fine or should I go 20A?

Re: Golf Cart Batteries Leaking
I'll take the other side here, a stereo is not that big of a deal, it draws 10 amps, the motor draws 300 amps.
The draw from a stereo is minimal if it's not played for hours on end. The batteries balance themselves each time you charge the cart. Unless you are running amplifiers and trying to do DJ work from the cart, you'll be fine using a tap. My cart has been tapped on the same 2 batteries for 12 years without issue. The 6 year old batteries are well balanced and I have had 0 problems. |

Re: Golf Cart Batteries Leaking
No DJ work here. I don't think the stereo ever plays for more than 30-40 minutes of putting around the neighborhood, going to the store, etc. It's just a basic head unit running a pair of 4" speakers and an Ipod. That's it. It's also being played at 30-40% volume...not ear splitting loud.
