Re: inherited 93 Club Car part 2
well transformers arn,t cheap at all......it will be cheaper to find a used charger, even a new charger isn,t much more than a transformer.............if your 100% certain you need a transformer i would look for a used working charger ( automatic ) don,t buy one with the 12 hour timer knob like the old microwave ovens.................................

High Amps Charging a very low set of batteries and a connection with resistance.

Have you cleaned the batteries and cables? Corrosion on the battery posts and cables can cause heat too.

been almost a year and batteries are doing great !! holding charge, have full power, runs about 15-16 miles before needing recharge, and uses little water a month only thing ever happen was a post melted cause i put a washer on and did not tighten it good .. DOH! now the sad but good news ... a friend got a jacked up cart with 2010 Powertron batteries in it.. but he wanted Trojans so he gave me the '10 batteries and used my '06 "renewed batteries" as core turn in's so now i have 2010 batteries FREE and when they start going bad i'll be doing the ol' battery renew trick again ... hell it kept a set of dead batteries going a year going to do a little upgrading to the lights and other things ... will post up as things happen |
