Is a battery tender the best option???

I don't use my cart often and haven't done right by my batteries to the point that I have probably ruined them. Is the best option a tender or should I look at something else???

The DPI and Shauer chargers have a float mode. They go from charge to float to keep your batteries at the correct SOC. This is best in my opinion.

Yes it ... all you need to do with these tender types is refill the water..

Sounds like a good way to go. Een better if I could get a few bucks for the charger I have to help offset the cost

I love my DPI charger, two thumbs up. I have one on my 48v ezgo. If my OBC ever goes or the CC charger, I'll get a DPI for the Club Car as well.

at the risk of sounding ignorant, can someone give me a quick education on OBC??? and do all carts have them?????

OBC = On Board Computer - This is the brains (circuit board) for the charging system. They are only a product of Club Cars and were introduced in the late 90s, I think 96 or 97. They have had several revisions and every Club Car to date since they were introduced has one. Every other brand of golf cart and charger has the brains for the charging system in the actual charger itself.

The OBC system when working well works very well. But it is more complicated than it needs to be as it is directly tied to the operation of the cart as well as it controls to solenoid activation circuit, so you can't drive the cart while it's charging. Sometimes a bad OBC will fail in different ways i.e. it may charge but the solenoid lock out circuit fails preventing the cart from operating, other times that circuit will be find but it will not charge your batteries right, or sometimes it will just fail.
