Default Charger going backwards?

I went riding on my `99 Club car and it went dead. So I plugged it up to the charger. It started at between 15 and 20 and now is at a little over 10. It going backward. I don`t know anything about these Chargers, is that normal?

PS:It`s a Powerdrive, not sure which one.Thanks.

It's absolutely normal!

When the meter drops to 0, the charger should shut off, and you should be fully charged!

As your batteries charge their internal resistance goes up and this blocks the current flow. If you check your batteries as they charge, you will see the voltage rise with time. All of this is perfectly normal and towards the end of the charge cycle, the gassing ( boiling sound ) is also perfectly normal! Here's a link to " ScottyB's " site. Read everything he has in his menu with the word " battery " in it. You will learn a lot about batteries!

Amen to that, you can read about what the charger is doing and what's happening inside the batteries while you charge
