Default accelerator pedal

has anyone tried to cut or file down the back of the accelerator pedal to obtain more speed? there is 3/4 to 1" knob on the back of the pedal that hits floor board when stepped on, thinking if I would remove that would gain more speed. Let me know what you think, thanks!!

Before you do that check the throttle end result. If electronic it may already be maxed. If mechanical it may already be on the last button

if the pedal is adjusted correctly, max speed will be obtained without the need for cutting & grinding. what model cart? is it stock parts, controller ect?

it is the Yamaha AC 2015 version, everything is stock. I am not experience with golf carts, just looking at the obvious. I will see if I can check throttle cable. A friend bent his throttle to obtain more speed. I don't want to do that

What kind of control system is in this? I've been curious about Yamaha ACs. I have looked through a user manual that only vaguely explained the wiring. Didn't have any info on make or model of the control.

I can't believe that it would work that way. (unless something is way out of adjustment!)
