Adjust Engage RPM on Comet 780
I was reading the paper that came with the new Comet 780 I bought and noticed it said the engagement RPM is 1700. The Powermax 16 HP motor I'm going to use has an idle around 1700.
I thought I read somewhere the 780 has an adjustable engagement speed but I couldn't find anything online as to how to adjust it so I can make my cart idle instead of turning on and off with the gas pedal. I called Comet this morning but they will be closed until June 1st. Anyone gone through this process? |

Re: Adjust Engage RPM on Comet 780
I wouldn't sweat it until you get the engine installed.. Most "one-lungers" can be idled down to as low as 1100 RPM.. The stock 780 engagement might work just fine..

Re: Adjust Engage RPM on Comet 780
My recent experience with a maxpower clone was that it liked 1500rpm but would tolerate 12-1300 which was enough for the 94C comet to let her idle and shift while running.... My theory is they have the motor running very lean and you might wanna put a bigger jet in it?
