000586 EZGO gas vehicle
Hello All.
I am new to this forum, as you can see. I have a EZGO with 2 cylinder gas engine. Serial #000586. From this site, it quotes it is a 1988 model. It has a hydraulic tilt bed. Also has a rear pto. What would the rear pto be used for? I am trying to resurrect this vehicle. Right now, the solenoid just clicks. Engine will not turn over. Put a jump wire across solenoid posts and no action from the starter. How is this starter removed, if necessary? Is this a Bendix style starter where the gear is engaged into the flywheel when key is turned to start? thanks |

Most carts have a starter/generator, which is an electric motor that spins a belt to a pulley on the crank. Did you jump it across the big terminals on the solenoid with a heavy wire/cable?

Yes, used a heavy wire, sparked a little , but no movement of the starter. I currently do not have a picture of the right side of the engine to show that this setup uses a alternator, not a starter/generator.
thanks |

New one on me, that looks like a hydraulic motor that raises the bed.
Is it connected to the motor in anyway? |

That is correct and works fine. Small leak in one hose. Deal with that later. Engine running is more important.
thanks |

Re: 000586 EZGO gas vehicle
Sorry, read your post again, thought you were showing the alternator.
Not familiar with your cart or motor, hope someone here can help. |
