Default Using Delta-Q SC-48 with Dakota 48v Lithium

Hi all, I just installed a Dakota 48V 96AH lithium in my 2018 RXV and would like to use the Delta-Q SC-48 charger that came with it. The output is about 13a and I know the Dakota can accept up to 15a.

Does anyone know if this would be a problem?

The amperage is not an issue.

The DELTA-Q came with the battery, right? If so it should be set to a lithium algorithm so you'd be OK. If the Delta-Q was purchased separately then make sure you set it to the right algorithm before using it to charge the pack.

The charger came with the cart which originally had Trojan T1275 SLA batteries.

Sounds like I would have to reprogram the charger. Google search here I come, but hopefully I can do that myself.

You must use a charger designed for lithium. Don’t use your original charger without reconfiguring it for lithium.

Talked to the manufacturer and they indicated that the Delta-Q SC-48 is not field serviceable and could not be modified to charge a lithium battery.

Going to stick with the charger that came with my battery and buy a Anderson Sb-50 to RXV triangle adapter now.
