Icon i20 - Suspension Question

Stock i20 owner. Extremely rigid, rough ride over even the smallest bumps. Can the suspension be modified to address this?

Asked many times, including me, terrible suspension compared to high end carts. Only option lower tire pressure or look for better tires. Hoping somebody comes out with after market softer suspension but doubt it.

PS your tires don't look stock, pic makes them look ultra low profile which is performance, not ride

Had mine for about a month now. Same tires/rims. It was so hard the right mirror glass popped out. Luckily it was the blinker mirrors and it was dangling by the wire. I checked my tire pressure and they were at 34psi from factory. I have lowered and found a bit of a sweet spot at 22psi. Still has some stiffness, but all around better than it was.

The seat when in the down position sits on the hard lip plastic. This does not help, plus it grinds plastic on plastic. I actually got some 1” wide x 3/16” thick foam tape and put on the inside lip (cart side) when the seat comes down. In my opinion this minor change seems to help the smoothness of the ride slightly. Although maybe just in my head. But it does not grind plastic on plastic anymore.

The tires came stock from factory.
WANDA 215/35-12.
Current pressure is 28.
Max speed spec for tire is 30 mph.
My cart tops out at 29 mph.

I was wondering this same thing - I'm happy with the cart except the ride is quite rough. In all fairness I upgraded to 12" wheels to gain more speed and I know that contributed to the ride, but it seems like someone should make a kit designed for those of us who use the cart almost 100% on the street. If anyone has a suggestion please share. I have even thought about trading for a polaris GEM which I believe has an independent suspension.

Street? Thats my best ride. Try taking it on the golf course. On the road I'm faster than almost all carts in our neighborhood. On the golf course, I'm the slowest and can't even sit back to protect my back. Wish you Icon owners would call the dealer/factory in Tampa and ask them to develop an adjustable shock (similar to motorcycles) for after market. In fact, I'd love to see if someone could alter another shock from a different cart or maybe some Harley Road King Air shocks to these things.

...and just wait for all the lithium upgrades. The loss in weight will make it even worse. Ride is ONLY thing I find wrong with these carts

The lighter weight with the li batteries does make it much worse!

I have lithium's and as you said the ride quality is the only thing I am unhappy with. I'll never take it to a golf course, it's essentially a fun extra small electric car for us that is easier to park, so anything that would improve the ride would improve the experience. If anyone has any suggestions, please message me - Thank You

First thing to do is dump those wheels and tires and get some 8 or 10" rims and tires. Tire sidewall is the most important suspension "part" for street driving in a lightweight vehicle like a cart.
