Yamaha g29 drives with no key

Golfcart runs without key, with key switch on and off. I can switch to tow mode and it does its job( don’t run ) . I installed a headlight kit and ran a new harness. But never messed with the key switch. It was working normal before i installed the lights. Thanks

Make sure the battery indicator cable is on the correct negative post. Same thing happened to me. When it was connected to the wrong negative post it would start without a key and the battery status was incorrect.
