Putting G29 Struts on a G22
I tried putting G29 struts on a 2004 Yamaha G22 golf cart. Visually, the struts appear different but after installation, the camber and caster appear the same. I did have to perform an alignment after installation. I would say for my application they worked perfectly. Below I have provided side-by-side pictures of the struts with the G22 on the left and the G29 on the right. The G29 struts felt softer and left the front of the cart 1” higher than the rear. The rise in height could be due to many factors as the struts being newer compared to the rears, no weight on the front of the cart, or the new suspension hasn’t settled yet.
