Quick question...does the voltage only drop at the solenoid or does it drop through the battery pack as well?

It drops on both. Then I can move the meter and watch both come back up really slowly. When they get back up to around 15 volts, they basically stop moving. When I put the switch back to tow, the battery voltage goes right back up. That's what blows my mind. Where does the voltage go?

There is a slight draw in 'run'. You are playing with dead batteries so any minimal amperage draw is knocking them down, when you stop the tiny draw the surface charge returns but it is not a true charge backed up by lots of amperage stored which is why it so easily reduced.

Makes sense. Well it's starting to. Thanks so much for all the help. I really appreciate it as I am just learning. I'm giving them a good charge now and after that, I'm gonna try the troubleshooting stuff again. Hopefully I can get on it a little tonight after I get home from a meeting.

Load test your batteries individually, sounds like they wont take a load?

Definitely battery issue as of now. I'm going to finish charging them after work and hopefully by Thursday be able to spend a little time with the volt meter troubleshooting stuff

You can't test much without a good battery pack. Maybe check some continuity?

10-4. I'm gonna get them charged on up and check it out. I had 34 volts after the first charge last night and just checked the ignition and I had voltage there finally. So I'm gonna get them charged all the way and try it again.
