Re: YAMAHA G2/G9 carb removal help
Be very careful with the 10mm nuts securing the carb to engine. It's easy to overtighten them & crack the plastic intake. But, no, no "step by step" I know of.
If it's that difficult to you, maybe it's just not the job for you to attempt. |

Re: YAMAHA G2/G9 carb removal help
Hey,
Listen to cgtech- the plastic ( Bakelite?) piece between the carb & head does break easily from over-tightening, then causes other hard-to-track problems. So, if you need to ask for assistance , do so! If the new carb is other than OEM, be prepared to fiddle with it quite a bit to get desired results. I have a collection of cheap aftermarket carbs, that wasted a lot of time . . . |

Did you try searching on YouTube? You may not find an exact match to your golf car, but you'll find a bunch of videos of changing carbs on a golf cart. Found this one on the first search.

Re: YAMAHA G2/G9 carb removal help
I’m mechanically incompetent. I did it twice. Once when I overtightened and broke the black spacer, the second time when I learnt a valuable lesson from the first time! It’s easy, just take the cables off and make sure you remember how it all goes back together. Take heaps of photos. Adjusting it for performance once it’s back on is an entirely different skill set...good luck!
