G1 suspension
I just got a 1980 g1 last week did very little to it and actually got it running. One question I have is where the swingarm bolts to the frame is there supposed to be bushings in the frame side? Both sides of mine have a ton of slop in them! Also there's a couple of bolts on adjusters right next to the frame brackets, are these used to adjust the ride height? Mine has a good lean going to the driver's side is probably 1 1/2" lower then the other side!

Re: G1 suspension
The bushings would be in the swing arm. I believe you need several posts to posts pictures, but it would help.

Re: G1 suspension
Never heard of adjusters. Its all about the shocks they contain the shock and the spring. So unless something is bent or broken, its the shock that controls ride height.

Re: G1 suspension
This picture is from the top looking down on the frame mount, the adjusters are the gotten bracket with the tab and you can see the bolt that pushes on the frame.

Re: G1 suspension
Not bad, I got the cart for free and have $100 in parts and it's running and driving, looking for suggestions on the roof though.

Re: G1 suspension
Looks like the body cleaned up nicely. I have a g1 that I need to resurrect soon.

Re: G1 suspension
So I figured out they're to keep the rear end square under the cart but there a cable that attaches to the front motor mount, I couldn't find them on a drawing but was wondering if they should attach to the upper or lower part (swingarm side)of the mount.

Re: G1 suspension
It looks like the ruber bushing is missing. Most of the time the bolt is frozen in side the bushing. If someone had the swing arm off they didn't put the bushing back.
