Trailer hitch recommendations?
Guys - I know I could make something perfect, but time is not on my side. I need a hitch for my CC, but I have a 'saftey' rear seat on the cart, so there is the floorboard in the way. CPP has a nice one for $49 and I think I can just use a 12" extension - that should work. Steve's has one that looks super duty for $79. Also saw it for $61 at cart stuff depot.
Ron - I didn't see anything on your site, but I know you must have something up your sleave..... Any thoughts? |

Re: Trailer hitch recommendations?
my company sells one that mounts to the foot board of the seat kit, its about $50... you just drill 4 holes in it, and mount..

Re: Trailer hitch recommendations?
I am not one to steer people away from Cart Parts Plus at all, but I think the one from Steve's is a little heavier and I like it because it mounts to the actual frame. I'm sure either would be fine, but you'll have to decide which one you want based on what you're pulling.

Re: Trailer hitch recommendations?
My foot board is plastic - and I am inclined to go with the frame mount too - who knows what I'll try to pull with it....

You'll be surprised what they will pull. You will also be surprised what they won't stop.

Re: Trailer hitch recommendations?
The idea is to pull a 4x8 utility trailer, wood stake sides, with hay bales around the neighborhood on Halloween. (obviously with trick or treaters)

Re: Trailer hitch recommendations?
ive seen one golf car pull about 5 other golf cars around at one time... a gas car weighs 6 or 7 hundred pounds... so I would guess that pulling that trailer should be no problem.. ... not to mention I have a customer that pulls around airplanes with his gas club car... (although small planes)

Re: Trailer hitch recommendations?
Wow phasetim, you're lucky. The carts I work on can barely pull themselves. Except the Club Cars, they use those to tow the lesser carts around.

Re: Trailer hitch recommendations?
I do have a machined driven clutch, power spring, and heavy duty rear leaf springs so I think I'm well suited for towing....
