98 Workhorse shifting problem
I have a 98 Workhorse that is developing a shifting problem.
It does have a shorter drive belt with about 15 hrs on it but the shifting is getting worse instead of better. When I first installed the belt I didn't notice any real shifting issues. Now when it is shifted to forward or reverse the rearend shift lever doesn't move over all the way until the wheels move a bit then it will lock in and shift. I tried simulating a cable adjustment by installing a wiretire under the adjustment nut (~5mm) but it didn't seem to help. Any ideas or adjustment tricks would be appreciated. I have gotten the cart on a hill in a bind a couple times and it wouldn't shift when I really needed it to ... Thanks, Mike |

Jon mentions that the shorter belt will cause shifting problems in a hill. |
