Default V-Glide Burning up

Hello everyone.
New member here. I've been a mechanic all of my life, mostly heavy equipment. I've retired now and work on friends and relatives carts these days. I've run into a reoccurring issue with my sisters Club Car DS. The wiper switch burned up. I replaced it making sure the brushes were parallel and now the cart doesn't move until it is at full speed!! Of course the sparks fly when the wiper reaches the last contact! I believe all is hooked up as removed but it does explain her exclamation of it jerking and acting weird before it stopped moving possibly. I replaced the damaged component but didn't fix the cause. I'm thinking motor shorted???

Thoughts?
Thanks in advance

Does this CC DS have the 5 solenoids or just the resistor coils?

It has the resistors. After posting I found R4 separated and ordered a new one. I just received the parts a few minutes ago. I also ordered a new insulator and a couple studs. So thanks for your response. Is there anything else I might need to know in replacing these parts? V-glide, R4 resistor and insulator board? I plan on cleaning up all of the resistor connections and have aligned the brush. Is there any special way to clean the resistors? Steel wool, sand paper, emery cloth, chemicals?
