2004 Club Car DS gas engine alignment
I picked up a 2004 DS gas. It had a catastrophic driven clutch failure. Clutch was replace just before I got it. Rental customer complained when the throttle is let off it feels like brake is applied. Also under sustained high speed trip he cold smell the belt burning.
I did the neutral check and engine position is to the driver side such that belt is rubbing of fixed plate of driven clutch which may explain driven clutch failure and the braking affect under coast condition. I removed engine and elongated slots for engine to the pass side in both the mounting plate and trans. I was able to shift engine .260 inches to the pass side. I thought is may be too much but after reassembly it is perfect. Cart runs fantastic now. Has anyone else had this issue? Sorry I did not take pictures. |

Re: 2004 Club Car DS gas engine alignment
I made a mistake belt was rubbing on moving disk of driven clutch.
