Yamaha G5 sun classic transmission NO Reverse
Hello:
I have a G5 Sun Classic that won't go in reverse. I checked the cables and the the two cables that run from the shifter to the transmission are intact. I guess my next step would be to assume the problem is inside the case. can anyone give me any insights of this problem and how to fix it ANY: 1. part schematics out there of the transmission 2. directions how to remove the transmission and fix the problem thanks much |

There should be a lever on the outside of the differential. Is it rotating when you shift? Maybe try disconnecting the cables and make sure it’s rotating fully?

Chances are good its n0ot in the diff. The cables did have a tendency to stick. Try a cable luber andlube them up

The cables might be on springs which are taking all the motion before it gets to the differential. I’d check all the linkage first.
