Default G9 Suspension upgrades

I have a 93 G9 that is pretty much rebuilt. Motor runs, squared away voltage issues, so far so good. Next up is suspension. The springs look shot, and the "A" arms seem worn. (Fairly certain everything is original) I was looking into replacing both shocks and "A" arms, but noticed that some life kits replace the "A" arms as part of the kit. Is this recommended? Cart is stock currently, and rides rough in the front end, Kingpin and bushings HAVE been recently replaced. Just curious what is the best foot forward. I do need new tires and rims, but that would be completed after suspension work. Thanks in advance!

Are you looking to lift the cart or keep it stock height?

Stay away from the economy lift kits. They're cheap, and work. But ride like dookie. Spend a little more cash and go with one of the double A-Arm lifts.

If you're really feeling froggy the long travel kits look nice, but they're too much $ for my tastes.

I love that word. Makes me smile every time I see/hear it.

I'm with CP241 on both points.

Also, since you're thinking of getting new wheels and tires in the future. You may want to shop around quite a bit. You can get lift kits with wheels and tires as a "package" deal and maybe save a little coin.

I live on 10 acres in the Northeast, so a lift most likely will happen. I am not one to be obnoxious with over doing things, so I will most likely go 6"-8" at the most.

Thanks for the input, in the back of my head I was thinking that a "package" with lift and wheels might be the best solution. I will shop those out and do my homework!

Being that my cart needs new "A" arms anyways, the lift I'd look into would replace those. I'll be shopping this out!

Here's my before and after pics with a Jake's 6" lift with 10x7 rims with 20" tires. Just the right amount of lift and she rides smooth on the turf tires over the aggressive tread.After.jpgBefore.jpg

Scott, thanks for the pics, good looking machine! Here is my project, in the early stages. Engine was rebuilt over the winter, and runs great now! I am shopping for Jakes stuff now.

Pretty much the same carts minus the roof. I paid roughly $700 for the lift kit and tires which I thought was reasonable. Threw on some paint and a back seat and new seat upholstery and that's it. Have fun prettying her up!!!

I miss my G9. Didn't really want to sell it but it drove me nuts after all the work I put into it to see it sit in the corner of the shop and rot. Still probably my favorite cart ever (and I've had a number of them). My only regret was the stupid 4" econolift that made it ride like a roller skate.

I have a Steeling 6" kit on both of my club cars and have been very happy with the build quality. Great pricing too.

Scott, what did you do in the rear of yours? I want a seat, but also want to use it as utility machine to haul stuff, garden runs, string trimming, etc.
